Speaking to Bloomberg, Burnham said he believed Ukraine’s declining interceptor stockpiles were “fixable”. However, any solution would likely require “a lot of layers and a lot of negotiation.” He repeated his support for Ukraine despite what he called Russia’s “outrageous threats” against the UK.

The Russian Embassy in London had threatened “consequences” after accusing Britain of “deliberately opting for an escalation of the Ukraine crisis.”

Ukraine and France are looking to set up local assembly lines in Ukraine. They want to produce the deep precision strike missiles, which use shared French and British technology. Moreover, it hits fixed or stationary targets such as hardened bunkers and key infrastructure, according to MBDA.

The defense firm says the missile uses an advanced navigation system and is very accurate. Storm Shadow and SCALP missiles are in service with the British, French and Italian air forces, as well as other export countries. They have been used in conflicts in Iraq, Libya and Syria.
